About Me

Rossina Schroeer-Santiago MA, LPC, NCC, GCDF, CIGT

Owner, Element of Discovery, LLC

Founder, Element of Discovery Therapist of Color Collaborative

At Argosy University – Denver I obtained my Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.  Additionally, I have received my Licensed Professional Counselor ( #LPC.0015630), Nationally Certified Counselor endorsement (NCC #831693), and I am a Global Career Development Facilitator (#GCDF147) that places an emphasis on employment development, reintegration, or adjustment issues that allow me to provide career facilitation throughout the process of meeting identified employment development goals.

In my private Mental Health Practice in Denver, CO I founded the “Therapist of Color Collaborative”, which currently has a membership of more than 20 Therapists of Color.  I believe that in this work it is important to have "community to support the work we do in community".  My career opportunities have led me to:  Denver Human Services, the Office of Congresswoman Diana DeGette, the Department of Veterans Affairs, as well as the Community Colleges System for the State of Colorado. I am also a proud US Army Veteran having served from 1996 – 2003, culminating my military career with a combat tour in Iraq for Operation Enduring Freedom I.

In my work, I operate from a humanistic approach that encourages individuals to explore their feelings, thoughts, and emotions in relation to their individual life experiences.  Coupled with empathy and encouragement, individuals find they are better equipped to face adversities and uphold their victories.  My areas of interest are individuals experiencing:  Veterans issues, homelessness, justice involvement, trauma, grief & loss, anxiety, depression, substance abuse, and career/life transitions.  I believe that the human capacity can be an unstoppable force in creating an empowered and sustainable future that allows you to live more authentically.
